Looking through social media websites, I stumbled across this image out of mere casualty. A quote that makes you think from a different point of view.
So much time is devoted every day to appearances and how we “present” ourselves to the world. We meet new people every single day, and always in the back of our minds we are far too concerned about making the right first impression. It all narrows down to the great fear in society about judging a book by its cover.
But what if the world was blind? What kind of perception will people have then about you?
The first thing that came to mind when I first read this quote is how we don’t pay much attention at the words that we speak at times. As a society, not much emphasis is placed in inner beauty, and how honesty, gentleness, and kind words can stretch out even further than however you might look like.
My conclusion at this quote is, if the whole world was blind, people would truly be able to get to know a person by the contents of their soul and not by how they are wearing their make-up, or if they are working that outfit with confidence. Like I said, honesty and kind words can paint beauty in a person’s soul and not everyone can see that.
Ironically enough, we can say that in a sense, our world is already blind. It is blinded by superficial perceptions of what makes a person truly beautiful. Judgments and criticism blind people, and they are not able to see the true radiance that a person might reflect in their spirit.
